  • We are installing a play structure for younger students that will be fenced in by the back corner of the parking lot. As our footprint expands, we will devote more of our lot to a tarmac and have teachers teach students’ appropriate play. The future goal will be to use a blacktop area for basketball and tarmac games as we settle into the entire building.

Approximately 3 minutes from the school grounds in Victoria Park. The wide-open space can be utilized for supervised large group outdoor activities and offers a full climber that is often underutilized during the day. City approval is not needed for a public park space on a short-term basis; schools have held picnic days in the park for years. We are also looking at making agreements with indoor athletics facilities in the neighborhood for further athletic and play opportunities. Dependent on availability and transportation, we will offer physical activities off site such as swimming or skating (with parental consideration and permission).

Students will be supervised at all times off property to ensure safety. Students are supervised by two teachers, with the school available by cell phone. The school’s proximity to the park (~3 minutes) provides quick access to the emergency process by calling the school for the emergency team. Teachers also may take a first aid kit with them. Grade 11 and 12 student helpers are also available to ensure any students needing to return can come back to school safely; teachers will notify the school of returning students for additional safety.
